AMD FX-8150 9GHz? (Tech)

Records were meant to be broken. Earlier in the week we told you about the impressive overclocking achievement for an AMD FX-8150 hitting over 8.8 GHz. Now be prepared for even more.

The very same skin was able to push his setup even further, hitting a new high mark of over 9 GHz. The Asus Crosshair V Formula motherboard with only two cores enabled on the AMD FX-8150 was able to reach a clock speed of 9062.43 MHz (287.7 * 31.5).

It may not be an entirely practical implementation of the processor, but it's sure a very nice clock speed.

AMD releases new processor (News)

New AMD Processor

AMD has launched a new top-end APU and CPU today, rounding out the “Godavari” platform refresh of its previous Kaveri APUs. The new A10-7890K will ship with AMD’s vaunted “Wraith” cooler, while the A10-7870K and X4 880K will include a new, near-silent cooler. The only difference between the Wraith and these other two designs is the former’s illuminated shroud. All three coolers are rated for 125W TDP, which means they should be able to handle at least a little overclocking.

AMD Polaris (News)

AMD Polaris

AMD’s CEO confirmed late last week in a round table discussion during CES 2016 that Polaris Radeon graphics cards will be released before the back to school season, for both Desktop and laptops. The annual back to school season spans the period between mid July and early September every year. As such the company’s commitment to have graphics products based on its latest Polaris architecture before then is notably more specific than the previous goal of around “mid 2016”.
